What does Spinal Decompression Do?
Spinal Decompression is a non-invasive treatment that attempts to provide gentle decompression of the disc through the use of a table that tractions the spine. A computerized system controls the distraction force that is applied between periods of relaxation; this gently tractions the spine and attempts to create a vacuum between the vertebrae which pulls the specifically targeted disc back into position. This vacuum effect is thought to allow the disc to re-shape and take pressure off of the involved nerves. The disc will then get proper flow of nutrients, blood and oxygen allowing for proper healing of the disc.
